Vengo un poco más tarde de lo previsto, pero sigo cumpliendo. Hoy toca lo que fue el single de Tug of War. Mi tardanza se debe principalmente a que me estaba peleando un poco con la letra. No había manera de que me gustara, tú, pero al final llega un punto que dices: he hecho lo que buenamente he podido y esto es lo que hay. Y bueno, ahora ya me gusta más lo que hay. ¿Hace falta explicar algo más? No. Esta canción habla totalmente por sí sola. Jarkko sigue siendo metal, yo sigo siendo metal y todos seguimos siento metal porque el metal no se va.

Ya estamos aquí otra vez, cumpliendo lo de una traducción por semana. ¡Bien! Bueno, hoy es el turno de una canción que prácticamente se ha traducido sola porque no me ha dado problemas. El reto que planteaba esta letra estaba en el vocabulario del principio, pero tenía fácil solución: consultar muuuchas definiciones y diccionarios de sinónimos (porque, señoras y señores, los diccionarios bilingües no bastan) y montar el puzle. Cuando al final encajaron las piezas fue un ¡eureka!

¡Seguimos con las letras de Tug of War! Y menudo tug of war he tenido yo con esta... Mira que es corta, pero no veas cuánto dilema: ahora pongo esto así, ahora lo pongo asá. Aquí me hubiese venido bien preguntarle al autor, pero dije que iba a hacer esto sola, así que yo sola me las he apañado. La idea de la letra es clara, así que solo necesitaba tenerla en mente a la hora de tomar decisiones y ya. Quizás hay alguna cosa traducida muy libremente, a mí que me gusta no alejarme mucho del original para que la letra se siga mejor, pero creo haber mantenido la idea y al fin y al cabo de eso se trata.

Tirurí, ya vuelvo a estar aquí (?). Como ahora solo dependo de mí, me he propuesto ser buena y colgar una traducción de Tug of War por semana. Esta letra también hace tiempo que llevo trabajándola, aunque no me ha dado ningún dolor de cabeza en especial. Simplemente he ido retocando y mejorando cosas, pequeños detalles que había que cuadrar. Es una letra simple (simple en el sentido de que es muy directa), pero eh: menuda letra. ¡Toda una declaración de intenciones! Y además cómo está estructurada y todo... ¡Genial!

¡Hola de nuevo! Tras haber puesto fin al proyecto Stoneface hace casi un año, vuelvo con su secuela: ¡arranca el proyecto Tug of War! Esta vez las traducciones las hago todas totalmente por mi cuenta. Estuvo chula la experiencia de contar con Jarkko para traducir las letras de Stoneface, pero he decidido traducir las de Tug of War yo sola porque me veo capaz de hacerles justicia y además bastante trabajo tiene ya el hombre como para que yo encima le de más. En fin, ¡empezamos!

Empecé a trabajar en esta primera letra hace ya muchos meses. La he ido dejando y retomando a lo largo de este tiempo porque siempre había algo en lo que me atascaba, pero al final, justo para cuando pensaba empezar esto, he conseguido unos resultados de los que estoy satisfecha. Un problema con esta letra es que a veces hay versos que quedan muy largos en español, pero he tratado de que la cosa no quede demasiado coja. Espero que el resultado os convenza.

¡¡Laaa madre!! ¡No ha pasado tiempo ni nada! He ido dejando esta traducción porque he estado liada y el jefe también, y al final con tanto dejarlo tanto dejarlo... pues ha pasado casi medio año. Ups. Bueno, pues nada, después de mil siglos el Proyecto Stoneface llega a su fin porque esta ya es la última canción del disco. Más vale tarde que nunca, no? :P Debo decir que esta traducción al final está hecha totalmente por mi cuenta porque esto ya no se puede dejar más, pero bueno, está muy pensada y supongo que tampoco me he alejado mucho de la intención original. Después de esto no sé muy bien qué vendrá, pero intentaré que el blog no se quede tan Cold'n'lonely.

¡Ostras, ha pasado más tiempo del que me pensaba! No era mi intención tardar tanto, pero así ha sido (já, me ha salido una frase a conjunto con la letra de hoy). Bueno, penúltima traducción ya del proyecto Stoneface. He de decir que algunas partes las he reescrito un montón de veces porque no había manera de encontrar algo que sonara bien y que hiciera justicia a cómo está montada la letra. Ooh, penúltima canción del proyecto Stoneface... y aquí he de decir que si no entendéis la letra es normal. En realidad no está pensada para que se entienda; trata de algo que solo puede entender su autor. Que luego vosotros le encontréis vuestro propio significado es otra cosa, y de ser así, bien por vosotros :) Sólo aclararé una cosa porque Jarkko la aclaró, aunque creo que es bastante obvia: la frase que da título a la canción no se ha de entender en sentido literal.

Bueno, bueno, nueva traducción del proyecto Stoneface, aunque esta en realidad la he hecho totalmente por mi cuenta. Aquí he tenido un dilema con el título (y el estribillo), pero después de darle muchas vueltas, al final me he decantado por la opción más literal porque a pesar de que el verbo "querer" pueda ser algo ambiguo en este caso, pensé que en realidad queda bastante claro cuál es la acepción que se usa aquí. No hace falta decir las cosas de forma más explícita.

Y aquí está: la canción que da título al primer álbum de AHOLA y a este "proyecto" al que ya le queda menos para llegar a su fin. Iba a poner un pie de página para explicar por qué la palabra stoneface se queda sin traducir, pero mejor lo hago aquí directamente. Tampoco tengo más que contar... Bueno, el porqué es muy simple: se queda sin traducir porque es el título del álbum y eso es intocable. Además de que carapiedra me suena cutre y las traducciones buenas que se me ocurrían poco tenían que ver con piedras y caras y eso era alejarme demasiado (y volvemos a lo de que el título es intocable).
